Lucios wins residential project in Serralves

The building company Lucios has started the construction of a residential building with 74 apartments, which will involve the rehabilitation of previous structures of the old Lordelo’s factory and the 'renaturation' of Ribeira de Grijó, a small water course.

The building company Lucios has started the construction of a residential building with 74 apartments, which will involve the rehabilitation of previous structures of the old Lordelo’s factory and the 'renaturation' of Ribeira de Grijó, a small water course.

Located in Serralves area, in Oporto, the project, signed by the architect Manuel Correia Fernandes, develops itself in an area of 12.600 m2 and it shall be concluded in February 2013.
Characteristics
To give substance to the project, Lucios will build 66 new apartments types T3 and T4, spread over six 'building block' with a height of six floors, placing the private parking on two underground floors.
In what’s left form the former woolen mill of Lordelo, a building of three floors, there will be eight apartments of T2 and T3 types.
In another building, where the old offices of the factory where located, conservation and rehabilitation work will be carried out for setting-up of an equipment of the 'art gallery' type.
Specificities
Among the main characteristics of the work, there is the intervention in the Ribeira de Grijó, which has an underground journey in artificial gallery, but it will travel outdoors to the fullest extent of the land, which would require its depollution.
The project was granted by the cooperative SACHE (Solidariedade e Amizade – Cooperativa de Habitação Económica).
